National Semiconductor Interview Questions
& Process

It was just one interview. The manager asked me some personality questions to see if I would be a good fit. Since I was interviewing for a product engineer role in semiconductor, they wanted to see if I had analytical skills and could read graphs. They also asked if I knew about amplifiers and their characteristics. After the interview, the manager offered me the job if I was interested in data collection and analysis.

I had an initial phone interview that focused on questions about my resume projects. A week later, I was invited for an onsite interview that lasted half a day and involved talking to four people. This part also heavily featured questions about my resume and projects, along with some questions about clock domain crossing. Following that, I was considered for a full-time role with a different team, which included another interview round, this time more concentrated on Verilog. I think I struggled in this round due to low confidence, especially with questions related to X's and Z's, which is where I felt I lost out.

I got a call and there were two interviewers. They started with asking me questions about my career and about my self. Then they asked me when can I start. Then technical questions-OOPS concepts...all possible...inheritance, encapsulation, etc..What is interface..and some more of OOPS questions. Some database questions...basics. Where do u see urself 5 years from now.

It was a multi-stage interview process. First, I spoke with a recruiting consultant, then with the company HR. After that, I had a phone interview with the Hiring Manager. The final stage was an onsite interview which involved a presentation followed by seven one-on-one interviews. They were really focused on my communication skills, analytical abilities, and subject matter expertise. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. My advice for future candidates is to be ready for some deep analytical questions.
