Systems Engineer
About two weeks after applying, I got an email to do a video interview. It was a pre-recorded interview, meaning no live person to talk to. I spent about 30-45 minutes answering around 12 questions. It was pretty straightforward, but I'd advise paying attention to the time allotted for each question.
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a teammate and how you handled it.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
Systems Engineer
I applied online and after about a month, I got an email to schedule a phone interview. The interview was mostly about my past experiences, how I work in a team, and some personal questions. There weren't any direct technical questions, but they wanted to hear how I solved technical problems through my experience examples. I got a conditional job offer the very next day.
- Tell me about a situation where you, as a team member, had to overcome a challenge.
Systems Engineer
I was first contacted by a hiring official who gave me some great pointers on how to improve my resume and what to focus on to do well. About a week after I took his advice, I got an invitation for a HireVue video interview. Then, about 2-3 months later, they set up a phone interview for me.
- How would your engineering background contribute to a successful career with the NSA?
