There was a phone interview first to make sure you met the basic needs for the role. Then a panel interview happened, which involved a short presentation on what the team does, and then they asked me some questions and I got to ask them some too.

After they review your resume online, they'll give you a call to set up a phone interview. If that interview goes well, you'll head over to campus for an onsite interview. I and other interns/technicians interviewed with three people from the team we were applying to join. I had to do a presentation about a past project. Afterwards, I had brief one-on-one interviews with each of them. If everything checks out, they'll let you know within a week if you got the job.

The first step was an HR interview over the phone. They asked about my education, my project work experiences (1 through 5), my published papers, and my research projects (1 through 6). Then we talked about my desired salary, welfare, and location. They also covered national lab rules and other related matters.
