First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at National Positions.
Digital Marketing Specialist
The interview process started with a screening, followed by a lengthy video interview with a manager. They seem to move through the process quickly. The people were nice, and there were no projects required.
- What are you testing?
- Are you competitive?
Content Writer
You get a phone call first and then the interview process starts. During the interview typical questions are asked like about your experience, writing skills, and other stuff. There was also a test involved that consisted of some proofreading and critical thinking questions. There was an example of a client and what kind of strategy you would have for them.
- What can you do with a brick?
Project Manager
It started with a quick screening call, then an in-person with the hiring manager. I noticed a lot of empty desks, and the interviewer mentioned they'd had recent layoffs of about 60-100 people and were 'going through changes' (big red flag). The interview was all about SEO analytics, not PM skills like project management, tools, communication, or organization (red flag!). When I talked about basic PM terms, the interviewer seemed unfamiliar (red flag!). They mentioned version management issues, and when I brought up Git, they'd never heard of it (huge red flag!). They also said they hired someone internally for training but doubted their ability to train new hires effectively (major red flag!). Given the interviewer was supposed to be the SME, it's clear the company lacks direction and is likely failing. I ended up saying I wasn't a good fit, and I suspect management is misrepresenting the company on Glassdoor.
- Have you used Google Analytics before?
- Which CMS tools have you worked with?
- What do you think is the most effective method for increasing conversion rates?
Marketing Consultant
The hiring process involves 2-3 interviews. First, there's a phone call to go over the job and its specifics. Then, a face-to-face meeting with a manager. The workplace has a pretty casual dress code, mainly requiring a collared shirt, but jeans are fine. Of course, you should still present yourself well for the interview.
- Can you tell me about your relevant experience?
- Do you have any sales experience?
