Case Manager
The interview process was about 8 weeks long, from applying to getting hired. It was a really nice process. My only issue is that I applied for an entry-level role because I wanted to switch careers into life insurance. The recruiter called me and said, 'I wanted to schedule an interview, but looking at your resume, you seem overqualified and I don't think you'd be interested.' I was shocked! I'd never had a recruiter discourage me before. It made me want the job even more. After three rounds of phone and in-person interviews, they kept asking if I was 'still interested,' which of course I was, that's why I kept showing up! I'm three weeks in now and I love it. That recruiter could have missed out on good talent if I hadn't been persistent.
- Can you tell me about your leadership style?
- Just checking, are you still interested in this position?
Manager
I skipped the initial recruiter call and went straight to interviewing with the Hiring Manager, then a panel of three. The HR coordination was rough, with one interviewer rescheduling and confused with multiple email links. I used the wrong one first, and even with the right one, an interviewer was late, requiring a reminder email. Despite the scheduling mess, the interviewers were chill. The interview itself was good, even with the unprofessional scheduling. They seemed to have already picked someone and I was interviewed just to check the box, but got the rejection email quickly.
- Tell me about your resume.
- Tell me about your background.
- How did you deal with remote work issues?
Technology Manager
It was definitely a thorough and long process. First, there was an HR phone screen, followed by another HR phone screen. Then, a preliminary tech interview with the hiring manager, and after that, a tech interview with a tech peer. This was followed by face-to-face interviews, where I met with 8 folks over the course of one day. Each person was from a different department with different objectives and opinions. I was actually impressed with the culture of the organization as well as the thoroughness of the interview process. I was surprised after a 2+ month process to be told at the end that my skills and technologies did not match what they were looking for. I would have thought if that was indeed the case, that I would never have made it to the face-to-face. But feedback is a lost art form and something many companies won't take the time to offer or cannot because of legal reasons.
- Standard behavioral and cultural questions.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
