They asked why I left my last job, how my job search is going, and how long I've been looking for work. Some questions were pretty standard but felt a bit deeper than usual for a phone interview. They then outlined the next steps and when I should expect to hear back.

Applied through an agency, and they helped me get through the interview process. It was pretty straightforward. First, there was a Wonderlic test and a basic math test. Neither test was really hard, but they gave you only 12 minutes for 50 questions and 10 minutes for addition, subtraction, and percentages, which made it a bit of a challenge.

The company requires an IQ assessment and a math test before the formal interview. It's a proctored IQ test followed by a math test that requires driving an hour to get to. The recruiter mentioned it's to check for the 'smarts that Warren Buffet wants'. The Wonderlic was okay, but the math test involved calculus-level problems without a calculator, done by hand in 10 minutes. Some questions were multi-step, and others involved exponents on square roots and long division. They set you up for failure. I was told I didn't pass the math test and couldn't proceed to the interview. This seems superficial, and the company might miss out on talent by judging based on this.

I applied online and got a phone interview with the recruiter. The recruiter was a bit late, but it wasn't a big deal. They asked a lot about my high school days, which was weird since I have 7 years of insurance experience and a degree, and they didn't ask anything about my insurance background. The job description didn't have responsibilities listed, and when I asked, the recruiter didn't know either. The same day, I was offered to schedule a video interview, but first, I had to do an hour-long assessment. The catch was, it had to be done in person at a testing center. I backed out then because I didn't want to drive to a testing center during a pandemic for a job I might not even get. Just a heads-up for others, they require an in-person test at a center, no exceptions.
