IT Manager
The process began with a recruiter call, followed by a call with the hiring manager. Despite highlighting my qualifications and extensive experience, particularly in non-profits, the interview proceeded. It felt like a waste of time as it seemed they had already made a decision based on appearance rather than qualifications, which made the DEI aspect seem disingenuous. They could have saved everyone time by declining my application earlier.

Web Specialist
About three weeks after applying online, I got an invite for a first-round video interview. The invite said I'd be asking a few team members ten pre-selected questions, and I had to give them my questions at least 24 hours beforehand. When I showed up, it seemed like I was expected to lead the interview, which was totally unexpected for a first interview. It felt really awkward and uncomfortable, and I still don't know why they'd do it that way. The last ten minutes were the only time I felt any connection, as they asked me a few questions and we had more of a discussion. Four months later, still no word. I followed up once and was told the initial interviews were taking longer than expected, and then radio silence. It's just weird and gives off bad vibes from a company that claims to want to make a difference.

Program Office Assistant
Interviews involve a group of people: typically the Center Coordinator, the supervisor for the role, a parent from the program, and sometimes the HR assistant. They use a structured interview style, asking each applicant the same questions in turn. They are usually friendly and try to help the applicant feel less stressed. They allow enough time for proper answers and take notes on a sheet with their questions. The panel uses these notes later to compare applicants and remember key details.
- Why do you believe you are a suitable candidate for our organization?
Lead Teacher
The hiring process was pretty fast. I sent in my application online and heard back about an interview about a week later. When I got to the district, there were six people there including parents, the director, HR, and a district coordinator. They gave me a sheet with about 8 or 9 questions to look at and use as a reference. It was a pretty standard interview, and they asked things like how I collaborate with a co-teacher, how I handle classroom management, what other languages I speak besides English, and what my plan would be if an ESL student needed special education services.
