Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at National Geographic Society.
Business Manager
I had my first interview with a photo editor. Then for the second interview, it was a long one, like 3 hours total, and I met with five different people from various departments one after another. They also showed me around the office and introduced me to some of the staff.
- Can you share a challenging situation you faced at work and how you handled it?
Manager
It was a three stage interview process. I also had a telephone interview. The interviews were held in the store and cafe, and included a floor walk and competency based questions about events, retail and cafe.
- What would you contribute to the NGS?
Manager
Had a great chat with HR, then never heard back after following up twice. About a month later, a different Disney HR rep reached out for a similar opening that the first HR rep had recommended me for. Currently interviewing for that position now, found the whole thing a little odd.
