First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at National Capital Region Medical Directorate.
Hospital Housekeeping Officer
It was pretty extensive. I had a recruiter call from HR out of Rock Island, Illinois, then two face-to-face interviews onsite at the military base. After those, I met with HR onsite at WRNMMC for a short orientation, filled out the hiring documents, and then they released me to my department.
- Can you tell me about your experience with infection control and patient safety, both past and present?
- What's your experience with housekeeping safety and chemical safety?
- Describe your working knowledge of hazardous materials.
Industrial Hygienist
I interviewed with the Service Chief of the Industrial Hygiene service. They asked me questions, and I talked about my experience and knowledge in occupational safety and health. Afterwards, the service chief gave me a tour and introduced me to the team. Later, I got an email asking for references. About a week and a half later, I got a tentative job offer, which I accepted. Then, I had to fill out forms, get a physical, and complete a detailed background investigation questionnaire. I was eventually told I had temporary clearance to start the job until the background check was finished, and I began working.
- Can you tell me why you were seeking to leave your current job?
- What did you find most challenging about your previous role?
Systems Administrator
Getting onto the base was a bit of a pain. The buildings are spread out, so you have to do a good bit of walking since there's pretty much no parking on base. The interview itself was in the morning and was pretty short and to the point. The atmosphere was very chill and the people were friendly.
- Questions about IT
Support Staff
There were 5 interviewers and they asked 10 sets of questions which were graded. The questions were related to the job and some were behavioral. The questions were mostly easy to understand. They also asked leadership questions.
