First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Natera.
Senior Scientist
The interview process started with a disorganized recruiter who didn't remember me or what I applied for, which was a red flag. Then, the hiring manager bragged about being more qualified than me. The next two interviews were so insulting that I just gave mumbled answers and got 'uh huh' responses. I'm not interested in this company at all. The hiring manager's ego is huge and unearned.
- Prove to me you can do this job better than I did, and explain how.
Scientist
It started with an HR phone screen, then a phone interview with the hiring manager, and finally an on-site interview. The whole process lasted about 5-6 weeks. There was very little to no feedback provided after each step. Everyone seemed extremely busy, and even the on-site interview felt like an imposition. I was given lunch but no time to actually eat it. The interview questions were alright, including some problem-solving and a lot of technical detail. I was asked the same technical questions during the phone interview and the on-site. It didn't seem like much thought was put into the technical aspects of the interview. The company overall appeared disorganized and chaotic.
- Were there any difficult questions, or just general problem-solving and standard technical questions asked?
Scientist
I got an email from the recruiter about a week after applying online, and they set up a phone screening for me. It was a super short call, maybe 10-15 minutes long. They said they'd let me know if they wanted to proceed to the next step with the hiring manager.
