Electrical Engineer
We start with a basic HR call, then you'll have a whiteboard session with the engineering manager. There aren't any curveballs, but make sure your engineering basics are solid. You'll need firmware, schematic capture, and PCB layout skills, so be ready to do some coding.
- Can you design a system from the ground up to manage the status indicator for an industrial tool?
- Regarding the embedded device in your system design, how would you ensure its code can be easily moved to different hardware if a chip shortage or obsolescence occurs?
Engineer
I had an interview set up pretty much the day after I applied. The interviewer was nice and asked a lot of questions about my experience and why I wanted to work here. I’d say the interview went well. I was passionate about working with cutting edge inspection tools and the semiconductor industry. I had hope I’d get a role at the company but unfortunately I was ghosted by the HR department and I’m not sure the reason if I’m a woman of color or if they wanted someone older and experienced I have five years experience in the metrology and semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry. I would also appreciate constructive feedback as to why I didn’t get an offer instead of being ghosted.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at Nanotronics?
UX Designer
I was emailed to set up a chat with a VP. After that call, I was told they'd get back to me in two weeks about the next steps. Two weeks passed and no one reached out. Then, about five weeks later, I tried to follow up again, but still heard nothing. No communication was given to me.
- Would you be able to code for product development as well as design?
R&D Intern
Expect the usual "what do you know about the company" question to see if you've done your homework. They ask normal behavioral questions and some technical ones based on your resume. Just do your homework and you'll be fine.
- Can you explain the difference between HVAC and R&D?
