First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nakupuna Companies.
Business Analyst
I was welcomed to the local office and given a tour. Of the three interviewers scheduled, only two actually showed up - one in person and one on Skype. They said they'd give me some info about the company and the project, and then I'd get to talk about my experiences. They did share some high-level info about the project and their partnership with another contractor. I never got to talk about my background though; it seemed like they had already decided they weren't interested in me. I knew I wouldn't get an offer when I left the interviewer's office.
- Did you review the company website and what were your thoughts?
- Based on the company website, what themes did you identify?
- How did you discover this company and position?
Senior Software Engineer
Applied online and then a recruiter called to set up an interview. The interviewees seemed unprepared and just wanted to get it over with, which was really unprofessional. One person introduced everyone and then just turned off his camera. Another was late and drinking during the interview. They only asked technical questions from a list and didn't ask anything about my experience or have any kind of conversation. The questions weren't even related to software languages, and it didn't seem like they were listening to my answers. It was a terrible experience.
- Could you explain the differences between C++ and Java?
- How do HTTP and HTTPS protocols differ?
- What is the concept of data encapsulation?
Configuration Manager
HR/Recruiter first got in touch for a basic chat and to set up a time for an interview. The video interview had two interviewers. The role seemed less about typical CM and more about managing a challenging Federal counterpart who was resistant to the project. It felt like it was more about client management and dealing with audits, as they hadn't been able to manage this person effectively for some time. I wasn't interested in the job, which worked out because, despite being told I'd hear back within a week either way, they never followed up. Total ghosting.
- Can you explain functional and physical configuration audits and their purpose to someone who doesn't know about them?
Imaging Specialist
The phone interview was straightforward and felt pretty relaxed. The hiring managers were really helpful and friendly all the way through.
- Describe a situation where you encountered a problem and how you fixed it.
