For the first step, I had a take-home technical assessment. It included MCQs, coding challenges, and SQL questions. In total there were 64 questions covering Git, Spring, Hibernate, Vue.js, JavaScript, JDBC, and REST APIs. I also had to solve 2 Java programming problems and 1 SQL problem. After completing that, I was invited for a 1-hour technical interview with the Hiring Manager. The first 30 minutes were spent discussing my resume and past projects. For the last 25 minutes, I was given a code review task.

First, there was a test, then a technical chat with the team. After that, HR interviews with the director in Canada and the Lahore team. Finally, an offer.

It started with an HR video call where I was asked to introduce myself, talk about my past experience, and state my expected salary. After that, she sent a link for a technical assessment, which I found to be very difficult and overwhelming with too many tasks at once. Although the job posting was for Montreal, the interview was conducted entirely in English. This was followed by a 1-hour and 15-minute technical interview.

The interview process started with a recruiter interview, followed by a hiring manager interview. Then, I was given a task to complete within 36 hours. Everything moved pretty fast until the task stage. After submitting the task, it took them five days to send an automated rejection email, which was really frustrating because it felt like an email for someone who didn't even get past the first stage. It's unprofessional to ask for free work and then send such a generic rejection. I should have paid attention to the reviews, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully, this helps other candidates avoid this mistake and they should apply to companies that are more respectful.
