My interview wasn't as bad as some people said. The front desk person sounded like she was about to cry when she answered the phone. I didn't think the interview was hard, but it didn't make me want the job. It would have been better if the LinkedIn job description was more upfront about what the job really entails. What caught me off guard was "tattoos can't be visible & this job requires a lot of travel, maybe to Portland." I'm also early in my career and being asked multiple times about my retention was unnecessary. If you don't like someone's resume, don't interview them or offer them a job. It's that simple.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Do you have any tattoos that can be seen?
  • Is your transportation dependable?
  • Can you tell me why your job tenure was brief?

I'm posting this to rebut their rebuttal of my review, as I left of my own accord, I wasn't fired. The interview itself was fatuous, outdated, and peppered with illegal and inappropriate questions and comments. It was conducted by someone who enjoyed trying to "gotcha" and make candidates squirm, which is unnecessary and unprofessional. The questions seemed to be cannibalized from "Interviewing for Dummies" 20-30 years ago. Past being outdated and illegal/inappropriate, they were the sort of questions one would ask a very recent graduate or intern. I took the job because I needed something and intended to continue pursuing other options. When you approach employees this way, they'll leave quickly.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • They asked me directly about my marital status.
  • They asked me directly about my familial status.

I went in for a face-to-face interview with the VP, and after we met, he brought the President in to meet me. She was AWFUL. She accused me of having a fake degree because she said sometimes people do that just to see if they can get away with it.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The President asked if I would be willing to wear my hair back every day so that I would look "more like a lawyer".
  • She also said that I dressed nice but would need to watch lawyers on tv to see what they wear and try to mimic them.
