I sent in my application and filled out a bunch of online forms and wrote some essays, which I felt I nailed. Knowing firsthand what good customer service looks like from my own calls and chats, I really focused on hitting those points. I type fast (over 60 WPM), and I think I did a great job on the chat essay, so I was confident I had the skills. The face-to-face interview started a half-hour late because they were rolling out new software. Once she got there, I thought I answered all her questions perfectly. I was so sure I'd get one of the open Customer Service jobs and maybe even start the next day! But instead, she told me to check my email. She mentioned she had to pass the interview results to a final reviewer I never met, and that I'd hear about an offer in a few days. Two days later, I got an email saying I wasn't selected for the Customer Service Representative - Online Membership Services position, but that I might be a fit for other roles in the future. I'm totally confused about what I said wrong in the interview, because there must have been something.

The people were very friendly. I was given a proficiency test before being hired. This test looked at my typing speed and some basic math skills. The job involves entering data, evaluating prices, and identifying and classifying items.
