First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mystic Valley Elder Services.
Care Manager
I had an initial chat with HR, who was super nice and made me feel welcome. Then, for the first interview, I met with her again, another HR person, and a manager. It was a formal chat, but they were friendly. My second interview was with the director and another manager, and they were both really welcoming, meeting with them one-on-one.
- Can you share your motivations for working with the elderly population?
- What relevant experience do you bring to this role, specifically with elders?
- Describe a challenging situation you've encountered in the past and how you handled it.
Case Manager
I got a message on Indeed.com from a recruiter at Mystic Valley Elder Services and emailed them back. We then scheduled a phone call for two days later. The phone interview was about 30 minutes long. I discussed my current and past jobs, my education, internships, volunteering, and my reasons for seeking a new role, and then the recruiter described the position. After the phone interview, we planned an in-person meeting for the following week. The recruiter also sent me an online survey and an application to complete. I then met the recruiter and another employee for an in-person interview. It was very brief and they asked the same questions. Roughly 10 minutes after I left, I got an automatic email stating they were moving forward with other candidates. No personal email or call from the recruiter, which is very unprofessional!
- What makes you want to work for this organization?
- Can you tell me about your case management experience?
- Have you worked with older adults before?
GSSC
About a week or two after I applied online, HR gave me a call for a quick screening to talk about my background and experience. Right after that, I was scheduled for an in-person interview at the office, which happened within a week. Once I got there, I first met the department director, and then I met with the training manager and my potential supervisor. The whole office visit, including both interviews, probably took about an hour. A couple of days later, they called me with a job offer, and I was set to start the next week. It was a really fast and straightforward process.
- Can you share your experience with case management?
Registered Nurse
I applied online for the RN-Home Care job and got a call back in just a few days. First, I had a phone interview with the HR Director. After that, I had an in-person interview with the Director of Client Services and the Nurse Manager. The whole process felt efficient and professional, but I didn't get the job in the end.
- Can you tell us about your experience?
- What makes you interested in working with our company?
