First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MySpace.
Senior Software Developer
It was a regular panel interview with a few groups of devs asking the same questions. They asked what something was used for and had me write some code related to what they wrote on the board. It involved asp.net, css, and javascript. While it wasn't too hard to get it working, you had to remember every possible input. Just be ready for .net and SQL server only.
- Given a list of integers in .NET, what is the smallest one?
- What is the purpose of this?
- Please write some code on the board using .NET, CSS, and JavaScript, accounting for all potential inputs.
Software Engineer
The interview was mostly technical questions, like stuff from textbooks in school.
- What are your thoughts on Design patterns?
Software Engineer
I had a recruiter call first, then they set up a phone interview. About a week after that, I did the phone interview which was completely technical, lasting over an hour. Another week passed and I heard back from the recruiter who scheduled an on-site interview. The on-site was a half-day event where I met three different people and was asked a variety of technical questions.
- Could you explain algorithms related to heap sort?
- What are some non-recursive algorithms for search trees?
- Describe algorithms for creating partitioning tables.
