First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MWR.
Child and Youth Program Assistant
It went well. I spoke with 4 interviewers who asked questions one after another. The main interviewer asked about my experience working with kids and in the classroom. They also asked about how I manage stress and what I expect from a supervisor.
- What five toys would you recommend for children and explain your reasoning?
Business Manager
I had one phone interview with two people, and then they did a background and reference check. After that, I got an offer and started working within 30 days. The whole thing moved really fast once my references were checked. When they checked my references, they didn't ask about specific work stuff, mostly just if I was eligible for rehire and if I had allegiance to the country, things like that.
- Could you provide specific financial details concerning food and beverage operations, such as bottom-line percentages, food costs, and labor percentages?
- Are you eligible for rehire?
- Do you have allegiance to the country?
Lifeguard
The application process was really easy, with questions that were suitable for someone with no prior work experience. I would definitely consider working there again. The training took about a day and was held in a large gym. All the pool representatives were there, and each pool's team sat together to review the standards and rules for the pools.
- What motivates you to pursue a career as a lifeguard?
Recreation Specialist
It started with a phone screen, then an in person interview. The process took a bit to get going after that, but they reached out periodically to confirm I was still interested. The background check took the expected amount of time.
- Regarding customer service, how would you approach situations?
- Can you explain your approach to handling various leadership styles?
