First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MVB Bank.
Project Manager
The interview process was pretty standard, with a mix of behavioral questions. They mostly had a conversational style, asking about my experience and how it fit the job I applied for. Honestly, it was a pretty easy process, felt like a typical bank interview.
- Can you walk me through your background and explain how it relates to this role?
Clinical Research Associate
The interview process felt a bit awkward with two interviewers who asked some odd questions that required clarification. One question was about my go-to Excel formula, which I found hard to answer directly as it really depends on the task. When I asked for more details, they didn't offer much help. Overall, I didn't get a very positive impression of the bank from this interview.
- What Excel formula do you use most often?
Manager
It was a super chill experience with 4 interviews total, starting from the initial HR chat all the way to meeting with the executive leaders. The whole thing took about 6 weeks to wrap up. Every interview was unique and asked different questions relevant to the job and how I'd fit in.
- What makes you want to join MVB?
Loan Processor
I applied online and then got an email to call the manager to set up an interview. The interview was a 2-person panel, very laid back and conversational, and lasted about an hour. They seemed really interested and practically showed me where my desk would be! But, after 3 days, they emailed saying they decided to go with someone who already worked there.
- Could you share some information about yourself that isn't on your resume?
- Describe a challenging situation you faced in your previous role and how you handled it.
- How would you approach a situation with a difficult or upset customer?
