First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Musiker Discovery Programs.
Residence Counselor
First, you have to fill out their application. Then, you wait for an interview offer. After that, you record yourself responding to pre-recorded questions. If you pass that, you will be asked to speak on the phone with one of the directors or hiring staff. Finally, you should get a job offer by email shortly after.
- Tell me about experiences that have prepared you for this role.
Resident Counselor
There were 2 interviews total. The first was online and had about 5 questions where you had to record yourself answering them one by one. You could listen to the question 1-2 times and then answer. I think you got one redo if you messed up. The second interview was a phone call. It felt more relaxed for me because it was more personal.
- Do you have experience working with children?
Counselor
The interview is entirely online. You'll be presented with questions, and then you record your answers. You can re-record if you mess up. Make sure to highlight your focus on customer service. If you pass this stage, you'll receive a call where they'll explain the role and you can ask questions.
- What's your approach to handling a frustrated parent?
- How do you manage stress?
Summer Counselor
The interview was really straightforward. They walked me through all the steps involved. They talked about the job duties and what a typical program day looks like. I got an offer right after the interview, for a city I was excited about.
- What growth do you anticipate from this role?
