Software Developer
I applied through a recruiter, then I had a take-home coding challenge. After that, I had a phone interview. I was immediately rejected because I didn't have enough experience. I think the phone screen should have been done first. If I didn't have enough experience, why would I do the take-home? Seems like a waste of time.
- Can you describe a feature you've worked on?
Risk Analyst
Had an intro call then a phone round with the hiring manager. The last step was an onsite with the manager, a peer, and someone from another department. The whole thing took about a week. The hiring process itself was pretty straightforward, then came some background checks for my education and a drug test. The onboarding took a good 4 weeks because of training and getting used to the workplace.
- Can you walk us through your background and what you've achieved professionally?
- Describe your experience working with others and how you handle interpersonal dynamics.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
Associate Producer
I got contacted about a week after applying. I met with three people: the Head of Digital Marketing, a senior editor, and a senior producer. They all said they worked closely together. I also had to do an editing test where I had to assemble a sizzler from music video footage. And there was a take-home copywriting test too. Everyone was super nice and easy to chat with. Maybe a bit too easy, which might be why I didn't get an offer.
- Can you share your experience?
- Show us you have the skills for this role.
- Edit together a sizzler using the provided music video clips.
Programming Assistant
The interview was scheduled super fast. It lasted an hour. The interviewer took a lot of notes and was great at answering my questions about the company. Everyone I met, like the secretary and the interviewer, was really nice and seemed to like their jobs and where they work.
- What's something you could get better at?
