Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Museum of Science.
Fellow
The initial phone screen was straightforward with anticipated questions. We discussed my background and my interest in the fellowship. We reviewed my resume together and they asked some questions. I was given the opportunity to ask my own questions, and then we went over the next steps.
- What is your motivation for pursuing this fellowship?
Intern
The interview process was quick and straightforward. They only reach out to candidates they consider qualified, but I got an email for an interview within two days of applying. The recruiter set up a phone interview with the intern coordinator. It was a simple interview with typical questions for any interview, like your interest in the internship and your experience.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer or person.
- What tools would you use when teaching someone something?
Intern
The interviewer was nice and asked good questions, and seemed really into the Museum's mission. It made me feel comfortable and I liked the process. It did take a long time to hear back though, several weeks. Since this was for course credit, it was important to get a quick response. The delay made things a bit hard, but overall it was a good experience.
- What makes you want to work here?
