I initially connected via Linkedin. I spoke with two different people and shared my previous writing samples and pitches. Each conversation lasted about an hour. I needed to be professional, but it was a really good and enjoyable interview and chat!

The interview was super conversational. I met with a bunch of different people from the agency, giving me different views of the candidate. They asked for my resume and some writing samples. The agency has a few different areas they focus on: travel, lifestyle, real estate, and digital. If they weren't hiring me for a specific area, they wanted to see how interested I was and what my experience was like in each.

The HR person was really nice via email, but when I came in, she seemed a bit stressed. I met with a few people, and then I had to follow up a couple of times to find out they decided to go with someone else. It happens, and I didn't feel like I was a good fit anyway, so it's all good.

I met with two principles and one HR representative. The interview was brief, but the position was rather different from what was presented to me at the recruitment fair. Murphy O'Brien segregates their work force, so the position I was interviewing for was mostly pitching.
