Accountant
The process included a phone interview, an excel test where I had to do formulas and accounting questions, and then an in person interview. It was a pretty straightforward process and the interview was nice. Just a heads up, the job posting was misleading because the position wasn't remote and their 'hybrid' environment was not flexible.
- Tell me what you know about the company.
- Can you explain a journal entry?
Director of Marketing
I went through 6 interviews with this company, all the way up to the Chief Growth Officer. It was great meeting everyone and the conversations were good. But after the last interview, I was totally ghosted. I tried emailing a bunch to find out about my application and next steps, but the hiring manager didn't even bother to reply saying I wasn't moving forward, which is a bummer after all the hours I put into interviewing and preparing. It felt really impersonal for a company that talks so much about caring and community. Also, the HR person for this job left midway through and then posted some nasty stuff about the company after she left and how they don't care about employees.
- Can you detail your professional background and experience?
- How would you describe your leadership style?
- Share your experience in developing and managing marketing campaigns.
Social Media Manager
The interview process kicked off with a phone screen by HR, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager. Next, there was a project component that was supposed to be less than an hour but ended up taking a full day, involving brainstorming campaign ideas for a real product. This felt like a bit of a red flag. The final stage included three in-person interviews. During my interview with the CBO, she immediately stated her dislike for social media and the need for it, despite the role being for Social Media. All subsequent questions from her were in bad faith and snarky, making it hard to respond. She also inquired if I used their products, which seemed like a subtle way to ask about having children. It was unfortunate because everyone else I met was great.
- What motivates your interest in this company?
- Can you elaborate on your campaign concepts for our product?
- Are you a user of our products?
Product Development Manager
I worked with Roxane West, a recruiter at WHY Brands, for a product development role on the Curio brand. The interview process was pretty involved. It started with a phone call, then two virtual interviews, and then multiple in-person interviews with the hiring manager and different team members. I actually had to go onsite twice. They also had me develop and present a concept, including its go-to-market timeline. The whole thing took about three weeks. Roxane was really good about keeping me updated on where I was in the process and was upfront about pay, benefits, and other candidates. It was a lot, but I never felt stressed because communication was so clear.
- Tell me about your experience.
- How well can you adapt to new processes?
- Are you willing to take on different responsibilities?
