My classmates and I saw this opening, and at least three of us applied. It was around May when they needed interns in Mountain View, which made me think some of their current interns dropped out. HR contacted me quickly after I sent my resume. Then there was a phone interview, followed by a take-home case study due in two days. The case was tough for stats or info school students, needing both stats knowledge and data analytics skills. HR mentioned 8 candidates did the case study, and surprisingly, all 8 also made it to the final online Google Hangouts interview. This interview was straightforward but focused heavily on stats. Although the company and position seemed good, I didn't feel respected during the process. They rescheduled my interview without asking and then kept all final candidates waiting. They estimated a month's wait, and my follow-ups got no response. Weeks later, after I'd started another internship, I heard a classmate got the job. It seemed they couldn't fill the spots and restarted the process. He eventually got an offer and accepted it, preparing to move. But then, Answers.com rescinded the offer due to budget issues, saying he might have gotten it if interviewed earlier.

I applied through campus ads and got a call from HR in about a week. It was about some general questions on my past experience and some introductions about the company. After that call, I got the invitation to do the analytics interview test within one week. The test required me to make use of Google Analytics and SQL. I passed the test and got the invitation to the next step - Google Hangout Technical Interview. In the interview, the interviewer asked me some statistical concepts and some SAS questions. By the end, I was asked to write some R commands in Google Docs based on his questions.

I went through three separate screening interviews, and there was no coordination between them. After that, I had a 'real' interview, and although they said to expect at least three more interviews, I never heard back after they promised a follow-up. Seven interviews for an intermediate role? That's crazy. The whole thing felt really disorganized. I think they're growing quickly and haven't figured out how to manage it.

I applied online and heard back from HR about two weeks later. We had a phone screen, and then I was scheduled to interview with the engineering lead. After that, I interviewed with two engineers where I showed them some of my past side projects. HR contacted me less than three hours later to let me know I was getting an offer.
