First I had a Zoom chat with a recruiter, then I went in person to meet the team at the store I want to work at. Everyone I met was really nice and upfront about their jobs and happy to answer whatever I asked.

The recruiters at the home office were super communicative and detailed, giving tons of info about the job and the process. They called to say decisions were still being made and to not get discouraged. First interview was Zoom with a recruiter. Second was in person with the Store Manager and District Manager, and I also spoke with the associates. The store workers were nice but maybe a bit awkward talking to an interviewee. The manager had her dog in the interview room, which was really distracting. I got a call the next business day with the rejection, but they asked to keep me in mind for other jobs. I got some feedback on why I was rejected.

Behavioral Other

The interview process was pretty laid-back and casual, but the questions really get to the core of what they need in an employee. Customer service is super important here, so be ready to talk about how the customer comes first and how you're passionate about learning and love animals. They'll use situational questions to test your customer service skills, which they call MBX. If they like you, you'll do an observation shift to see what the job is really like and how the store operates. This is your chance to ask tons of questions about the job, but don't try too hard to get to know the employees.

Behavioral Other

The interview process was pretty standard, involving a chat with the store manager and the regional manager. It felt pretty relaxed, mostly checking if I'd be a good cultural fit for the company. It was all very casual, nothing out of the ordinary. Given that stores have such small teams, it's mainly about personality and fitting in. If your past experience aligns with the role, the interview should be a breeze.
