The process started with an HR screening, but honestly, HR seemed clueless and the process itself wasn't clear to anyone. Next, a case study was assigned, due in 48 hours. It was of average difficulty, especially if you have a consulting background, so make sure to cover all aspects. After that, there was an interview with a Director/VP who reviewed my profile and assessed my analytical skills and thinking – again, average difficulty. Then came a long wait, almost a month, for the next round with no communication about the status. I had to travel to Bengaluru for the final round, which involved about 20-25 people applying for various levels. This whole setup seemed questionable. The in-person interview day, lasting 6-8 hours, began with a video synthesis test where I had to watch a video and summarize its key takeaways. This was followed by writing pseudo-code/an algorithm to test logical thinking. Then, a group activity where we had 45 minutes to work on a problem and 15 minutes to present our solution. The next round was what I found to be the worst: a 'creativity test' where I had to come up with a story based on a bizarre sentence like 'Dirty water polluted the river' and then perform it. Finally, a face-to-face interview that revisited earlier topics like the case study and resume. At the end of the day, they'd tell you if you made it, but salary details would only come later, and they were surprisingly low.

So, it was a mix of things to check skills, like a group activity where we had to do a group presentation, some coding, and a case study to do on my own. It kicked off with a recruiter phone screen. It seemed to go fine, but then they emailed saying they didn't want to move forward. I called them and found out it was because they were offering about 20% less than I make now. I managed to convince them that was okay with me. Then they sent over a simple analytical case study. Once I submitted my answer, they invited me to a skills assessment day. This day included a group presentation, a coding round, a round where we had to interpret movie scenes, and then a deep dive into the homework case study.

The first step was an online test called mu Apt on Aug 20th. It had two parts. Part one had 5 aptitude questions, 5 logical reasoning questions, 10 verbal reasoning questions, 20 psychometric questions, and some simple C output questions. There was negative marking. In total, 55 questions were asked. The second part had one pictorial question and a data interpretation question, focusing on calculation and creativity. Out of 400 students, 25 made it past muapt. Next, there was a video synthesis round where the founder spoke, followed by a group discussion on the video's topic. 18 students were then shortlisted for an HR interview. They asked simple questions. It was a very friendly panel, and I'm happy to be one of the 13 selected! It's the best analytics company.
