This company was super unprofessional, calling me on Tuesday/Wednesday for an interview on Saturday, requiring me to fly Friday evening. They sent a Walmart case study, due in 24 hours, though the actual deadline was 72 hours, because the recruiter messed up. I submitted it on time, but the recruiter was shady about flight details, promising them Friday morning, then afternoon, then finally telling me at 5:30 PM to buy my own ticket and get reimbursed. I pushed back, and suddenly got a one-way ticket for an 8:30 PM flight. I reached the hotel at 1 AM for an 8 AM interview. The interview itself involved synthesizing a video, writing code, a group case study and presentation, speaking about a given sentence, and a face-to-face chat. The only good part was getting an offer decision at the end, though many experienced folks were unhappy with the offer salary being similar or less than their current pay.

HR from Mu Sigma reached out about an opening. The entire process took over 4 weeks. The interview happened in July 2013. First, HR did an initial screening. Then, a regional head called to discuss my background and dug into one of my projects, covering my profile, analytical skills, and logic. It was of average difficulty. After that, another regional head contacted me to understand my motivation for the role. Later, a sales person with a questionable business approach initially mentioned local options were available. However, in the final stages, he proposed relocating me to a more expensive location for 40% less than market value, even though another consulting firm offered a similar role with better branding and the same hours. HR then stated the relocation package is standard regardless of origin, which I found pathetic; they seemed to be mere puppets of the sales lead.
