You'll go through a 5-day tryout, which isn't paid, but you get to enjoy some days on the snow. Riding assessments will give you a new perspective on your own riding and skills you can share. Expect a lot of travel to and from the mountain since the tryouts are spread out. You'll need to teach a group and show you can ride well and effectively share your skills and enthusiasm with students.

It was pretty straight forward. The interviewer got back to me the day after I applied and then I went up for an interview. Most of the questions they ask are mostly for human resources, but most questions they ask that are personal will throw you off. I won't spoil what they are though. Muahaha! Be sure to have a very positive attitude, you will be working with the public. After about 20-30 minutes of questions and talking the interviewer(s) will give you a tour of the rental facility, and familiarize you with everything. Afterwards he sent me home and told me to come up with two references (character/past jobs) in three days and email them to him.

The interview is skill-based, including a brief test on basics like mountain etiquette and the goals of teaching a sport. The interview gives a clear picture of expectations and corporate culture. It's one of the better interview processes I've been through.

the interview was really chill. they wanted to know if i met all the requirements. it was a friendly and respectful place. they emphasized communication and technical skills. they were clear and direct about what they expected.
