Algebra Professor
The interview process starts with an HR round, which is non-eliminatory. The HR person is friendly and explains the job responsibilities and company operations. If you pass this, you need to prepare a topic from the 10th standard textbook to present to the HOD. Getting selected by the HOD is tough. After that, there's a rigorous, unpaid training for 1-2 months, with only free tea/coffee. If the HOD thinks you're ready, you give a demo to the ZONAL head. If they select you, you get the job, but if they reject you, all your hard work is for nothing. The ZONAL head's decision is final. Rejection often happens after training in the central zone. I was fortunate to get selected after my training. Patience is key!
- Deliver a demo on a topic from the 10th standard textbook.
Faculty
It's a really long and tiring hiring process. First, they'll have you do a 15-20 minute demo and test your subject knowledge with the head of the subject. They also ask basic questions about working hours, location, and salary. Then, in the weeks that follow, they'll ask you to come in for training and workshops. You still won't know if you're hired or not at this point. The zonal head will watch your demo after your training, then they'll decide if they're hiring you and sign a contract. If you haven't worked in education before, it can be tough to manage leaves and notice periods to attend the training. They don't negotiate salary, even if you have prior teaching experience.
- How is your subject knowledge?
- Do you have a location preference?
- Are there any salary constraints?
Lecturer
MT Educare, a top Indian education provider using technology like their Robomate App, had a professional interview process. HR shortlisted candidates after reviewing many CVs. Shortlisted candidates were called to their corporate office to give demo lectures. I applied for an assistant lecturer role, but the management, being effective analysts, offered me a Senior Lecturer position, which was overwhelming. It's not easy to get in, but if you can positively influence future generations, you can succeed at MT Educare.
- What is your joining availability?
Counselor
after my resume was sent, i got a call. turns out the role was more admin. then i got a call from HR, there were 2 applicants. the interview was pretty chill and the HR was nice. they had us fill out a form with our info and then we went straight to the interview.
- Can you describe how you would manage an inquiry?
- Could you demonstrate how you would handle an inquiry?
