First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MSLA.
Supervisor
The interview process was quite lengthy. The interviewer seemed unprepared and asked questions directly from a prepared list. The salary offered was significantly below my expectations. The interviewer was upfront about the company's shortcomings regarding leadership, training, and resources. The role appeared to be extremely demanding with very low pay. I would not have accepted an offer, and I informed the recruiter that I was no longer interested in pursuing the position.
- Have you ever been responsible for creating or writing a new company policy?
Medical Records Technician
They are very efficient and fast to respond if you are qualified. The first screening seems to be an online/automated part of the application. After that, I was emailed about getting an interview, and then a recruiter contacted me.
- Do you have knowledge of medical terminology and billing codes?
Recruiter
I spoke with two people. The HR person was friendly but didn't go into much detail. The supervisor seemed to know exactly what they were looking for. After that, I had to come in a second time and then I got the job.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
- Have you ever been fired from a job before?
- What's prompting your job search?
Medical Records Technician
Since there was a need for more Medical Records sorting, the staffing agency wanted me to go immediately to the office and look for HR to apply. Discussed HIPAA and all work related stuffs. Then comes the supervisor to interview you how confident you are trying to find facts or how you dig deep to the problem to solve. With my business transferable skills and a year in medical billing and coding school, I got hired.
- How would you describe yourself?
- Are you willing to dig deep into the Veteran's problems to check on their issues?
