First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MSEI.
Software Engineer Intern
The first interview was a technical and academic one with a developer from the team. The second interview was with the team leader, focusing on cultural fit and work philosophy. Both were phone interviews.
- Can you explain SOLID principles, including their meaning and application?
- Regarding function overloading in C, what occurs internally, beyond its functionality or purpose?
Quality Engineer
The interview went well, and they asked relevant questions focusing on my quality-related experience. Some behavioral questions were also included. They informed me they were not offering sponsorship, so I did not proceed further.
- Can you explain FMEA?
- Tell me about any DOE or SPC projects you've worked on.
- Describe a time you handled a conflict within a team.
Radio Operator
The interview process was calm, well-directed and well-explained. It was conducted objectively, making the candidate feel comfortable to show all their expertise in the area, making the interview dynamic and productive for both the candidate and the company.
- Where do you currently live?
- What are your salary expectations?
Research Associate
It started with a regular hour-long phone interview with standard questions. After that, I was invited for a 6-hour onsite interview day to meet with 8 employees. However, two employees didn't show up, and the whole thing was super disorganized. The next day, I was told they needed more info to decide, so they asked for a writing sample and references. But they didn't want just any writing sample; they wanted a new research paper written by me on a topic they chose, due in two days.
- What is your understanding of statistics?
