First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MSD.
Software Developer Intern
The interview process started with an HR call where they introduced the company and the team, and asked some basic questions to see if I was a good fit. After that, there was a technical take-home assignment where I had to write a Python script with a web server to handle user requests. Finally, I had an in-person interview at the office with the team leader and senior engineers. We reviewed my home assignment, and they asked about my implementation and approach, followed by technical questions about Python (OOP, inheritance), Linux, and Cloud.
- Tell me about yourself based on your resume.
- Can you describe your approach and implementation for the home assignment?
- Could you explain Python's Object-Oriented Programming concepts and inheritance?
Programmer
I only went through the first round of interviews. It began with an intro to the company and the position I was applying for. Then we all did a self-introduction, which was also like a statement of purpose, to the interviewers and other candidates. After that, there was a brief Q&A based on our introductions. We had lunch together at noon. Then, we did a group activity focused on time management. It all wrapped up with a general Q&A. Nothing was particularly hard or technical.
- What makes you want to join MSD?
Software Engineer
I went through 2 rounds of interviews. The first was a technical interview with 2 senior software engineers and the product manager. We mostly had technical discussions and some situational questions. The second round was with the hiring manager and another senior team member. This round was mostly situational and behavioral questions with some technical questions mixed in.
- Tell me about your experience with Springboot.
- Can you discuss your knowledge of AWS?
- What are your considerations for API design?
