First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MR. D.I.Y..
Procurement Executive
I was told 30 minutes before the interview that it would be delayed by 30 minutes due to an urgent meeting, but it ended up being delayed by a full hour. The interviewer seemed rushed and unprepared, as they hadn't even reviewed my resume or the documents I'd sent two business days prior.
- What are the challenges and benefits of your current job?
Data Analyst
You submit your resume through LinkedIn. After that, a recruiter will contact you for a screening call. If that goes well, you'll proceed to an offline interview. Just a heads-up, you can only have one application moving forward at a time. If you apply for multiple positions at Mr DIY, only the first one can move ahead. If you want to apply for a second or third one, you have to withdraw from the first one first.
- Can you tell me about your strengths in a work context?
Business Analyst
I was invited for an interview for this role. But on the interview day, the interviewer told me that I wouldn't be interviewed because I am overqualified. The interviewer was also about 20 minutes late. He made me wait and then came to tell me that I would not be interviewed. So why send an interview invitation email? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO ANY OTHER CANDIDATE. The time I spent preparing, researching, and dressing could have been used for another company interview that is serious, systematic, and has clear communication. All in all, my time was wasted with MR DIY. I cancelled this company.
- We can't interview you because you're overqualified, and we apologize for making you wait 20 minutes.
Store Manager
The first round was with HR, the HR manager Pritiesh I think, and he was really good. We discussed both personal and professional topics, and the interview was very short, around 5-10 minutes. It really reflected the company's culture. The second round was with the Division Manager. He was also a good person and we talked about technical and store-level matters, including KPIs. He also mentioned that the company offers good career progression and strategy.
- What was your last drawn salary?
- Can you explain your interest in retail and your transition from hospitality and customer service?
- Could you describe the bills generated, average bill size, and your primary duties in your previous role?
