Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mphasis.
QA Analyst
First, I had a call with someone, and we talked about my background and experience. Then, I had a technical interview with the project team where we discussed my skills and how I approach problems. Lastly, I met with the delivery manager for a final chat about my communication, leadership skills, and how I'd fit in.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Can you describe different types of testing?
- Can you explain SQL joins?
Senior QA Engineer
I was really disappointed with how the interview process went. I had an existing offer and mentioned I needed a hike on it, which they agreed to. After the interviews were done, the HR called me. I reiterated that I had an offer of XX LPA and needed at least a 20-30% increase. The HR said they'd check with the business and get back to me. Later, the HR informed me that the business could only offer YY LPA, which was less than my current offer. They told me not to waste their time or other opportunities, and that they shouldn't conduct interviews if they can't afford the resources.
- Can you explain the basics of Selenium?
- What are the core concepts of Java?
- How are OOPS principles implemented in the framework?

The interview process is straightforward, starting with a technical interview followed by an HR interview. For a fresher, the best questions usually come from their major project. This segment is key to showcasing your abilities and covers things like: your choice of platform (Windows/Linux), your choice of programming language, your role in the project's development (including if you were the sole developer), the challenges you encountered, and the approach you took for the project's design and solution.
