Mozilla General Intern Interview Questions
& Process

The whole process was super quick, taking less than a month. I first got a call on Jan 26, then a phone screen on Feb 4. After that, I had two interviews back-to-back on Feb 18, all over Skype. They offered me the position on Feb 22. The interviews weren't too tough, more like a chat about my motivations and what projects I'm interested in, not really coding challenges. They asked a couple of technical questions and quite a few about my past projects. It's a great place to intern, and I'm happy I accepted.

I applied for a student worker role at Mozilla Berlin. After a day, I got an email asking for a motivational letter and a list of my site projects. I answered right away and got invited to an online interview a week later. The first interview was short (about 20 minutes). They asked about my programming background, my Rust language background, my side projects, and some more abstract questions about why I wanted to work for Mozilla and what I thought of the Open Web. A few days later, a second interview was scheduled with two members of the Necko Team (the team I would join). The interview was quite long (about 50 minutes), and I was asked a lot of questions in different areas (c++, rust, network programming, etc.). The atmosphere was nice, but the questions were quite tough. At the end of the interview, they said I'd be informed within a few days, but I never got an email. I asked if they'd already decided after a week and got an answer that they're still in the process. I find it very unfair to not get any response from a company, and it's sad that Mozilla isn't able to inform every applicant about the status, even if they promise it in the interview!

I applied online on their website. The recruiter got back to me in like two weeks. They sent me some HackerRank questions. After they reviewed those, I got to talk to the hiring manager on Skype. Then, within a day or two, I had to do a bunch of calls on Skype. There was supposed to be an assignment, but I never got it. So, I had 3 calls with the team and the hiring manager again. Since I didn't get the assignment, they gave me a few days to finish it and then have the call/presentation with the hiring manager again. I heard back within 5 days saying I didn't get it.
