Copywriter
The interview process was super easy as the people here are easy to talk to. You will have to do a mini assignment to show off your creative thinking but it's not too big of an ask.
- Can you describe your creative process?
- How do you stay current with cultural trends?
Social Video Editor
I had a phone screening with one of the hiring managers, and it was pretty standard. He had stated that the hiring process would include three additional interviews, which I found ridiculous. I wrote him a week later regarding the status of my application, and he never got back to me. They completely ghosted me, which I find so rude. HR needs to do a better job at not ignoring emails. That is literally what you get paid for. For a company that prides itself on promoting joy, the interview process was the exact opposite of that.
- Tell me about your experience.
VP Strategy
It was one of the most unusual interview processes I've encountered. It started with a recruiter call, which was good. They mentioned a personality test to shape discussions with the hiring manager and promised an update that week. I completed the personality test, which was surprisingly odd. It took almost a month to hear back, and then I was asked to compile a list of brands I admire and past campaigns I'd worked on. Typically, I would have withdrawn at this stage, but being unemployed, I proceeded. I spent a few hours on this task and submitted it. Two more weeks passed before they informed me they were moving forward with other candidates whose backgrounds were a better fit. This seemed strange, as my background is a perfect match, and they could have determined this six weeks earlier. The recruiter was pleasant, but the overall process felt disorganized, suggesting they are still developing as a company.
- What is your salary expectation?
- Can you provide a list of brands you admire?
- Can you describe campaigns you have worked on previously?
Creative Director
The interview process was pretty standard but took about six weeks. It included four rounds plus a final presentation with the initial interviewers and the other co-founder. I liked that a junior creative got to interview me, as I think it's good for a potential report to have a say in hiring their manager. However, it felt like maybe one round too many. I put a lot of effort into a presentation for a test, but they ended up going with someone else. The only feedback I got was that they 'loved my creative ideas,' which wasn't very helpful, but in this field, I guess I'm lucky to get any feedback at all. I asked for compensation for the spec work, and they gave me half a day's rate, which I felt should have been double, but I'm thankful for something.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
