Mortgage Loan Officer
I chatted with the market leader after connecting with another branch manager. It felt pretty relaxed but gave me a lot of good info. This gig is all about being self-motivated; if you're not up for going out and bringing in business, this Loan Officer job might not be the right fit. I switched fields because I'm into finance and find networking pretty easy. We talked about my previous sales background and how that could work in the mortgage industry. I'd totally suggest finding someone you know at Movement and reaching out to them first. Employee referrals are a super easy way to get a feel for the company and maybe land a chance to work with Movement.
- Can you walk me through your previous work experience?
- In what ways do you see your sales background applying to the mortgage industry?
- How do you see yourself driving business as a loan officer, given the self-driven nature of the role?
Mortgage Loan Officer
The team leader reached out for over a year before we met. They were respectful of my time and offered a good commission structure. I was hired quickly and immediately sent to corporate training in Virginia Beach, VA. The people there were friendly and helpful, though the training was intense and concentrated in a short period.

Mortgage Loan Officer
I had an in-person meeting with the National Sales Manager. We talked about their business model and what makes them successful. He also explained the whole process from when a customer applies to when they close on their loan. I was also given test prep materials and the dates for testing. The company covered the costs for an orientation session at their processing site in Charlotte, NC.
- What are your expectations for MM?
