First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mountain Area Health Education Center.
Medical Assistant
The interview process was pretty easy. I had one chat with HR and another with the department. It felt quick and thorough. Everyone was nice and got back to emails fast.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to juggle several important tasks.
Research Assistant
The interview process was very laid-back and informal, feeling more like a conversation. The team members were friendly and shared a lot of information about the organization and the specifics of the job. They actively listened to my experience and provided thoughtful responses.
- What areas of skill development are you interested in for this position?
- How do you define equity?
- Tell me about a project you really enjoyed working on.
Project Manager
It was a pretty standard interview process. Started with HR, then there was a group interview with the hiring manager and other leaders. Didn't get a chance to ask more detailed questions about the job, like about the company culture, how leaders manage, or if remote work is an option.
- Can you describe your approach to time management, especially when dealing with long hours?
- In previous roles, what steps did you take to ensure compliance within those organizations?
Research Scientist
The interview process was straightforward and very fair. They were open to answering questions about the program's strengths and weaknesses. It was difficult to understand the relationship to other campuses in terms of collaboration and the AHEC offices across the state and UNC main campus.
- What makes you want to apply with AHEC?
