Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mount Sinai Health System.
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was pretty fast. It started with a phone call from a recruiter, then a Zoom meeting with the hiring manager. After that, you have to wait about a week to reapply, and then you need to get about 5 references done within 2 hours. It's also followed by a drug screen and an employment physical.
- Tell me about your short term goal and long term goal
Executive Assistant
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter two weeks later to set up interviews. Instead of a recruiter call, I went straight into a panel interview with the people the position supports. The salary offered in the final interview was way below market rate, which a recruiter call upfront would have prevented. After the interviews, I followed up with the recruiter, scheduler, and an interviewer multiple times but never got a rejection or an update on next steps. It seems like there's internal confusion about the role, and the recruiting team isn't great at communicating.
- What are typical questions for an Executive Assistant role?
Secretary
I applied online and got a call the very next day for an interview. The hiring manager seemed nice and we actually went to the same college. She mentioned I was the first person they interviewed from outside the company, so I'm guessing they usually promote from within.
- Could you describe your previous work experience?
- What are your coworkers' opinions of you?
- What would your current manager say about your performance?
