Motus typically has a 3-part hiring process for most Account Executive roles. First, there's a phone chat with a recruiter to go over your sales experience and make sure you meet the basic requirements. Second, you'll have a Microsoft Teams meeting with the hiring manager to discuss your sales history and see if you'd fit the team's culture. Lastly, there's a panel interview that includes a presentation. This last part can be pretty tough as they'll really test you, so be ready and speak with confidence.

This was a really long and tough interview process. It started with a quick HR call where they explained the job and mentioned a few interview rounds, ending with a sprint planning session with the team. The pay wasn't great, below market. Then I had more interviews with people in the department, mostly one-on-one chats about my PM style. It seemed like they're pretty new to agile, so the questions were more about traditional PM stuff and managing risks. The last interview had a group of 6 people. A few days before, HR sent a two-page document for a project I needed to plan out. It turns out they really want a waterfall PM who uses Smartsheet, not someone agile or scrum-focused. I had to present 3 pieces of my past work, which took about 2 hours to prepare. It was super time-consuming. They advertised for a Scrum Master but actually want a traditional PM who knows their tools already. It was a good lesson in knowing when to walk away, especially when they changed the final activity from sprint planning to a PM-style presentation. Overall, it was an experience on knowing when to proceed and when to say no.

I applied through LinkedIn and the process was quite fast. All my interviews were conducted via Zoom because of COVID-19. Initially, I got an email to schedule a phone screen. Following that, I had a second interview with the hiring manager, which lasted about 40 minutes. We talked a lot about culture, and she was very friendly. The final stage was a 2-hour panel interview with the hiring manager, team lead, and HR manager. Each interview segment was approximately 30 minutes. About a week later, I received a call offering me the position.

Behavioral Technical

I was really hoping this company would be a good fit, it seems like a great place to work. But the interview process didn't really show that. I had a quick 15-minute phone call with someone who seemed like they were interviewing for the first time. The interview was all over the place, lots of pauses and filler words, and they didn't know much about the job at all. In the end, even though they didn't say it directly, it was obvious they weren't going to match my salary expectations, which were actually below the going rate for this type of job.
