First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moto Hospitality.
Customer Service Representative
The interviewer was clear about expectations, gave a warm greeting, asked conversational questions, listened actively, and kept a good pace. They showed genuine interest, offered encouragement, and finished with thanks and information about the next steps, which made me feel informed and comfortable.
- Could you share an example of a time when you successfully converted an unhappy customer into a happy one, detailing the specific actions you implemented?
Site Operations Manager
The interview process was pretty relaxed and I felt welcome from the jump. It was more like a chat than a formal sit-down, which made it easy to just be myself. The folks interviewing me were nice, explained the job well, and seemed really interested in getting to know me. It gave me a great vibe about the company and its culture, and that feeling has stuck with me in the job.
- 99% competency based questions on experience
Barista
Had a lot of questions, the interviewer seemed unenthusiastic, just read off a clipboard and made notes. Then they passed it on to the manager and said I’d get a call back. However, I received an email stating I wasn’t successful.
- What do you know about the company/brand?
- How would you handle conflict?
- What qualities do you look for in a manager?
Customer Service Assistant
I had a one-on-one chat with the store manager. We kicked things off with a little in-store exercise where I had to figure out what was wrong with a shelf display. Then, I watched an employee show me the ASMILE technique, which was pretty easy. After that, I had to go talk to a customer and get their thoughts on the Moto group and how they found the service. It was a bit weird but manageable. The interview itself was mostly standard questions about customer service and teamwork, nothing too surprising. It wrapped up with some personal questions and details about the daily tasks. I was offered the job right then and there! The manager made me feel super comfortable, and the whole thing was a good experience.
- Can you share an instance where you received excellent customer service?
- Describe a time you were part of a team and highlight the benefits of that experience.
- How would you handle a situation where a customer expresses dissatisfaction?
