First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mother New York.
Producer
The interview process was lengthy, requiring meetings with all partners and some senior management, which involved considerable scheduling coordination. While some meetings felt extraneous given my limited interaction with those individuals, most interactions were pleasant. However, the person I would report to posed the most challenging questions.
- Could you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What's your approach to managing challenging circumstances?
Executive Assistant
They really value culture and people, so the interview process happened over two weeks. I came in four times to meet different people each time. Each meeting focused more on learning about me and my past experiences, and also understanding my career aspirations within the industry. The overall vibe was very relaxed.
- What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Art Director
It was more of a casual conversation. Talk about yourself and the kind of work you do and would like to do. It's also a conversation to feel each other vibes and how you can possibly work together.
- Tell me about yourself and your work.
- What are your career aspirations?
Director
I went through eight different interviews, totaling 12 hours, spread across four months. I even met with the CEO multiple times. The interview experience was okay, except it took a really long time to get the final offer.
- The interviews felt more like conversations than direct questions.
