It started with a phone interview, then I went in person. The company seemed really great at first, and I liked the vibe. They told me they really liked me after the interview and would be in touch next week. I waited all next week but heard nothing. I tried emailing and calling but got no response. I suspect it was because I'm a man, and they wanted a woman, as all the employees are men. I couldn't even ask. This was the worst interview experience ever, don't waste your time. Even if you're a woman, they might do the same.

The interviews were conducted over the phone. First, there was a quick preliminary call with one person to broadly check if my experience lined up with what they were looking for. Then, I had a second phone interview with two engineers and a senior manager. I actually liked that it was over the phone; it felt like it helped cut down on bias, and nothing about my voice or resume gave away my age. The questions were all directly related to the job, including technical ones to test my skills. They weren't super hard, but it felt like you couldn't easily fool the engineers. They also asked behavioral questions about how I'd handle certain situations, interact with managers and coworkers, and what challenges I might expect working remotely with just one other M451 employee. To wrap things up, they asked me to discuss an infosec topic I found interesting. Since I was the last one interviewed, I got a call with a job offer within an hour.
