First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mortgage Connect.
Examiner
Got contacted really fast after applying, like within 3 weeks. They sent over the offer letter super quickly, within 48 hours. I also met with the manager within that same 48-hour window. The whole thing was a breeze, super fast. Got to chat with a recruiter.
- Can you tell me about your industry experience?
Closing Coordinator
I applied twice in the same year. The first time, it took about a month to get an interview. The interview process seemed successful, but after several weeks and learning the hiring manager was on vacation, I was rejected despite prior company experience. The second time, there was no interview, just a one-day "training" before being put into production. The training mostly covered company policy and then I logged off.

Senior Financial Analyst
The interview process involved one zoom call and then one face to face meeting. They were very communicative and kept me updated on where things stood at each stage. Scheduling was flexible, which was nice. Getting into the building was a bit tricky, but overall it was a good experience.
- What previous job accomplishments could you bring to this new role?
Closing Coordinator
The hiring process was a bit of a hassle. I had to complete a lot of paperwork when I came in for the interview. I then met with three different people. First, I spoke with the head of HR in a standard one-on-one meeting. Next, I had a conversation with a team lead. She mentioned that her team was understaffed due to increasing volume and seemed to like my resume, so I felt that one went well. The third interview, however, was quite unpleasant. It was with a woman who seemed very unhappy and suggested I wasn't motivated and was a 'dead beat' because I had been laid off previously, saying something like 'Good employees don't get laid off.' It was so bad I almost left. Based on my experience and what other employees have said, it might be best not to even apply.
- What are your top three strengths?
