It was a really friendly and comfortable interview, they were very professional and explained the work well when I asked. I felt really welcome the whole time, and they let me take time to prepare my answers when I needed it.

It was 2 rounds of interviews. First was with Waldeck engineers and managers. Second was with Clients engineers and manager. Both interviews were very technical and situational based. I was provided with situations that they were currently dealing with on site and asked what issues can I see.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process involved two team calls and a substantial final in-person interview lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours, where I met over 8 people from the business. The hiring timeline was quite fast. They provided a thorough overview of the company, its parent organization, and ways to add value for clients. While they focused heavily on this aspect, they didn't delve much into the role's day-to-day or a realistic outlook for the next few years. Despite a positive experience and strong interest in the role and company, the offer was disappointing. They matched my current base salary, even though they knew my salary expectations from the start. The offered sign-on bonus was also less than what I would forgo and required me to leave before receiving my due commissions. When I declined, they emphasized career progression, but the combination of a slightly worse commission structure, the same base pay, and an account management focus wasn't appealing in the end.

Behavioral Technical

I was approached about a role at Morson through a mutual connection. Initially, the process seemed promising. However, after about 3-4 meetings, it started to lose steam, clarity, and quality. A good interview process helps you assess if you're a good fit for the company and if the company aligns with your values and goals. It became apparent that Morson wasn't the right next step for me. This is a useful outcome, as these processes help you figure out where you *shouldn't* go. During the interviews, my professional achievements were often discussed in relation to my age, and I was even called a 'kid' a few times. While I'm proud of my accomplishments, I found this language reductive and unhelpful for building mutual respect. I was told the executive director would contact me to finalize the process and get feedback, but that never happened. Not every opportunity is the right one, and that's okay. I'm glad I explored it and feel more confident about what I'm looking for now. I wish the team well!
