First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Morphe.
Marketing
I interviewed at Morphe a bit ago for a marketing position. The whole experience was great — the team was super nice, and the interview process felt really thought out and organized. The questions were smart and showed they'd really looked at my resume. They asked about my background in brand campaigns, influencer strategy, and how I work with other teams. A big part of it was creativity and cultural relevance, which fits the brand. Even though I didn't get the job, I still have a really good feeling about the team and the company vibe.
- What motivates your interest in joining Morphe?
Beauty Artist
I applied for a seasonal beauty artist role at Morphe Liverpool in July 2024. After applying online, I was invited to an interview. It was a 20-minute interview with standard questions, and a 30-minute makeup test. The manager was really nice and polite, showing respect when I answered and took notes.
- What makes you want to work for Morphe?
- What defines excellent customer service?
- Can you share an example of the best customer service you've received?
Makeup Artist
I had to answer some questions in a video that had to be under 7 minutes, but it took me like 2 hours to record and edit. Then, I emailed back more questions. Soon after, I was offered an interview for the position and booked for the next week. The interview itself was super intense and the interviewer wasn't the friendliest. They were really focused on my sales skills and didn't care much about my makeup experience, even though I have over 3 years in beauty retail. Sadly, I wasn't selected after the interview. The interviewer wasn't even an experienced makeup manager, just a business marketer. If you want to do makeup, Morphe isn't the place because they prioritize sales over your makeup talents or experience.
- What were your sales figures in your last makeup job?
- Could you describe your Key Performance Indicators?
- What would be your strategy if the store traffic is slow?
Beauty Artist
I was contacted on social media and asked to send my resume. After I sent it, I had a quick interview over messenger. Then, I was asked to do a phone interview. After the store manager approved, the next step was a makeup interview where I had to bring my own model and do a day look that could transform into a night look within 30 minutes. I got some feedback, and they said they would call me if I got the job. About three days later, they called and offered me the position.
- Can you share an example of a positive customer service interaction you've experienced?
- Describe a situation where you turned a negative customer interaction into a positive one.
- What sets you apart from other candidates for this role?
