First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moorpark College.
Instructor
The whole process was super organized and everyone was really professional. I had about half an hour to prep before the interview. It was a panel with 6 people from different areas.
- Can you talk about a time you had an issue with a coworker and how you resolved it?
- What reading materials would you suggest for a [specific subject] class?
Technician
Great place to work as a student! The IT department is really welcoming and has super helpful and knowledgeable staff with tons of experience. They really make it a good learning environment if you want to get into IT.
- What's your motivation for pursuing a career in IT?
Counselor
It was a zoom interview, with a 9 person panel. It was tightly structured and included a demo. Scripted questions were asked, requiring 3 to 5 minute answers. There was also a 10 minute presentation. We received the questions for the presentation 30 minutes beforehand.
- Can you describe a scenario involving a student who is stressed about testing?
- Give a presentation on your plan for the first semester.
- What do you think helps successful students engage in learning?
Business Office Clerk
The interview went super well. The people interviewing me were really nice and professional. Nothing weird was asked. They mostly asked about my past work in relation to this job. They did ask if I could handle using a coin counting machine. It was pretty easy and I got the job right after.
- Tell me about your experience working with customers.
- Would you be comfortable using a coin counting machine?
