First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moore & Van Allen.
Associate Attorney
I had a great time talking with the lawyers at this firm! Initially, I had a virtual screening with two partners. Then, I went in person for a 1 1/2 hour interview with six attorneys. Sadly, over a week later, my recruiter let me know I didn't get an offer because I forgot to send thank-you notes. This was a bummer because I had very little free time due to my current job's demands, and the firm couldn't be flexible on their interview timeline. They said they were really interested in me, but then rejected me for what seemed like a small thing.
- Can you describe your current legal practice?
- What makes you a suitable candidate for our practice group?
- How would your existing skills and knowledge be applicable here?
Litigation Legal Assistant
It was a comfortable and easy interview experience. The questions asked were clear, and the HR people were great. There was some kind of testing involved when I interviewed, but I'm not sure if that's still how it's done. Overall, it was a really quick interview that focused on your skills after the testing part.
- Would you be interested in a full-time position with us?
Summer Associate
For the callback process, they flew a group of students out to CLT for one big day of interviews. It was fun and everyone was very kind. They were also accommodating for another interview I had to rush to get to.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in MVA?
- What makes you want to work in CLT?
- What are your reasons for pursuing law?
Human Resources Coordinator
I had a recruiter screening call where she gave me a lot of info about the company, which was great. Then I interviewed with the hiring manager, who asked some really good questions. I felt good about the whole thing. But then, after the interview, I tried to follow up about my application and got absolutely no reply. I was ghosted, basically. They didn't even say if they chose someone else, just silence.
- Can you tell me about your time management skills?
- What keeps you motivated during your work?
- How do you maintain focus and stay grounded in your responsibilities?
