I was contacted on LinkedIn and had a 30-minute call, which led to the next step. That was a call with a manager about my research skills. The questions felt more like a university exam on User Research than about my actual experience. For example, I wasn't prepared for questions like 'How do you calculate sample size for a survey?'. The interviewer was cold, rushed me, and often interrupted my answers. I got a rejection over a week later with no feedback. I had previously decided against applying to Monzo because I felt their hiring process wasn't a good fit for me, and this experience confirmed it. I'll be letting recruiters know I'm not interested in the future.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I've interviewed with Monzo's UR team twice. Both times, I was disappointed with their recruitment process. The first time, they put me through a long interview process, including a 4-hour in-person interview, only to choose someone else because I lacked sufficient quantitative experience, which could have been assessed earlier. The second time, the process was a bit easier with 5 interviews, but it took them 12 days and two emails to give me their decision and feedback. It felt like my time and effort weren't valued or respected. I won't be trying to join them again.

The process was clear and well laid out, with lots of helpful resources that gave a good idea of what working at Monzo is like. It wasn't super short but also not excessively long.
